Toy designers often find inspiration and concepts in real
world products like automobiles, ships, airplanes, bridges,
and buildings. Redesigning and scaling these life size items
into toys is a tedious task if done with pencil and paper or
redraws in CAD. Photos and scale drawings of these objects
are easy to obtain. The problem is one of how to take the
photos or drawings on paper into CAD for subsequent
manufacturing of toy components and assembly. |
The scale drawings or photos are scanned
into raster format and automatically vectorized in TracTrix.
The resultant vector file is then taken into CAD, edited to
suit and exported to Computer Aided Manufacturing Software
(CAM). |
