Creating torch cutting paths with TracTrix

Are you faced with the problem where your customers come to you with paper sketches, film or scans of logos or other 2D parts and want you to deliver a torch cut part? Or have they come to you with an actual sample for which you must burn a 2D duplicate yesterday?

Many numerically controlled torch cutters, who are used to getting clean CAD files, give up immediately and leave it to their customers to figure out how to deliver a useable CAD file for the control software. Is this a cause of ‘opportunities lost’ because you thought that it was too difficult or cumbersome to achieve? Did you lose a potential customer or burning job because you didn’t have a solution?

   If your potential customers can deliver scans of paper or of actual parts, TracTrix can convert them to useable CAD files for your torch cutting platform. If you receive sketches or drawings they can be scanned and TracTrix can convert them to CAD.  

If a solid sample is delivered for you to replicate or make mating parts for, it is a simple task to manually trace around the edge of the part to be copied, scan the tracing and use TracTrix to create a CAD file that can be edited to perfection for N/C torch cutting. The CAD file can also be used in whatever nesting program your torch platform may have.
