There is a resurgence in making and acquiring hand made jig
saw puzzles especially those that have unique shapes
interspersed among the usual interlocking pieces. Many of today's puzzle makers use CAD for design and either lasers or water jets to cut the puzzle into pieces. The problem is how to get out-of-scale sketches or drawings of unique shapes into CAD for scaling, designing and inserting into the rest of the puzzle design. |
Large
sketches are scanned to a raster file and automatically vectorized by
TracTrix. The vectors are exported to the CAD software and edited to scale
and inserted into the whole puzzle design. A Numerical Control program
drives the laser jet to cut the puzzle. |
