Creating foam cutting paths with TracTrix

Are you faced with the problem where your customers come to you with paper sketches or scans of logos or other 2D parts and want you to deliver a new piece of foam? Or have they come to you with a sample for which you must cut a duplicate or mating part in foam yesterday?

Many foam cutting shops that are used to getting clean CAD files give up immediately and leave it to their customers to figure out how to deliver a useable CAD file for the foam cutting software. Is this a cause of ‘opportunities lost’ because you thought that it was too difficult or cumbersome to achieve? Did you lose a potential customer or foam cutting job because you didn’t have a solution?

If your potential customers can deliver scans of paper or actual parts, TracTrix can convert them to useable CAD files for your foam cutter. If sketches or drawings on paper are delivered they can be scanned and TracTrix can convert them to CAD.

If a solid sample is delivered for you to replicate or make mating parts for, it is a simple task to manually trace around the edge of the part to be copied, scan the tracing and use TracTrix to create a CAD file that can be edited to perfection for your foam cutter. The CAD file can also be used in whatever nesting program your foam cutting machine may have.

TracTrix can help you to capture opportunities or help create them by employing this new tool.
