Old buildings are often converted from one use to another.
This often requires installation of new fire detection and extinguishing
systems to meet current codes. Drawings are
almost always available only on paper. CAD files are seldom
available or are simply non-existent. The problem is how to take the paper drawing information into CAD for design retrofit of new fire systems that include wire and piping runs. |
To solve this old drawings are scanned in
a large format scanner into a raster file and exported into
TracTrix for automatic conversion into vectors. The user's
CAD software is used on these vector files as the basis for
new pipe and wire layouts. |
