A major automobile manufacturer had old hand crafted
drawings of still useful engine designs. Because they were
hand drawn, no CAD file was available although the
manufacturer was presently using CAD. The problem was how to get the information from the old drawings into the present CAD system without a complete redraw of each drawing. |
To solve the problem the drawings were
scanned into raster format in a large format scanner.
TracTrix automatically converted the raster file into a
useful vector file that was taken into CAD. The files were
edited in the user's CAD software and the useful portions
were taken into new designs. |
