Apparel-Dressmaking Antique or classic dress designs are highly esteemed but expensive to replicate for the average person. A dressmaker has paper patterns for old, unique dress designs from the turn of the century and classic designs from the 20's and 30's that they wanted to replicate and sell at affordable prices. The solution is to scan the patterns into raster files and export to TracTrix for automatic conversion to a vector file. Export the vector file to a dressmaker specific CAD software for scaling the pattern to the desired sizes. |
Apparel -- Shoes Shoe designers for the most part do not work in CAD or other computer enhanced ways. They design with pencil on paper. But in order to fully evaluate each design for style and manufacturability, the design must be quickly taken into CAD and then to CAM to create full scale models. The problem is how to take the paper designs quickly into CAD without redrawing. The solution is to scan the patterns of the shoe sole designs to a raster file, export the raster file into TracTrix and automatically convert to a DXF vector file. Export the DXF file to the CAD package, edit the vector file as required, export the vector file to the NC program and cut the sample shoe sole design in plastic on Numerically Controlled milling machines. |
